Building Biology is a field of science that studies the holistic relationship between humans & their built environment. Following nature as gold standard, think of a Building Biologist as a holistic doctor for your home assessing material health, air, water, light, electro-climate, acoustics + so much more. The construction standards and building code in the US don’t take into account the known health hazards of thousands of common building materials that go into our live and work environments and yet we spend 90% of our times indoors.

Lauren unearthed her zeal for environmental building health after facing numerous life altering health challenges. Years of circuitous doctors, specialists, and healers, leaving no stone left unturned, it wasn’t until she transformed her built environment into a healing sanctuary and calmed her inner world through nervous system regulation, that she saw miraculous health improvements. Once she grasped the extent to which her physical and internal environments were contributing to her health, Lauren sensed her responsibility as a building industry professional.

This eye opening experience led Lauren beyond her career as an accomplished interior designer to embrace the holistic field of Building Biology. With extensive background in architecture, construction knowledge, sustainable practices, expertise in environmental health and emotional wellbeing practices, Lauren is among the first interior designers in the country to achieve a triple certification through the International Institute for Building-Biology & Ecology. As an agent of positive change, Lauren is committed to revolutionize the design and construction industry by pioneering built environments that are healthier and closer to nature.
